The old "far lands" were points were the Black Hole couldn't affect the environment, but now they are not there anymore because we got closer to it and it's impossible for our PC to calculate how far the black hole can reach. If we are moving up but we never reach something, it could be that we are being sucked towards a black hole, but being closer to it means time is compressed too, this means to us, it looks like we will never reach it. ![]() Now we are getting deep in the white rabbit hole: More examples that further confirm this theory:īees are gigantic, that's because muscular mass must be enormous to keep them flying.Ĭreepers have small feet and still can move the same speed as zombies, that's because they have no arms, the resistance of the air is lower. the world is going up.īy this logic if everything is going up we are moving slowly because our character is crushed on the ground, this also explains how can he have so many stuff in the inventory at once, it's because he has AN INSANE strength in the legs due to the very strong pressure of the world going up.Īlso, Steve is square shaped, air pressure must be even stronger, look at Endermen, they are tall and more pointy, that's why they move so fast that for us they look like teleporting. James Womack & Daniel Jones, Lean Thinking ![]() Lean Thinking and Agile are the core building blocks of SAFe Lean ThinkingĪdopting Lean product development can double labor productivity through the entire system, cut time-to-market for new products in half, and enable a wider variety of products within product families to be offered at very modest additional cost. The following two sections describe the key elements of Lean Thinking and Agile (summarized in Figure 2) that form the basis of the Lean-Agile mindset. Ultimately, it simply becomes ‘our way of working’ and is deeply ingrained in the culture of the enterprise. Their respective values and principles need to be understood and practiced so that the ideals of both Lean and Agile permeate the organization’s language, practices, and decision-making. Each has a rich and deep history of published guidance and case studies. To fully embrace SAFe requires a growth mindset open to learning the core values and principles of two primary underlying bodies of knowledge: Lean Thinking and Agile. However, in the long term, such a shallow adoption of the Lean-Agile mindset will inevitably fail to produce the real, long-lasting business results leaders hoped for when they decided to ‘go SAFe.’ ![]() This ‘SAFe in name only’ approach may produce some small successes in the short term. Adopting a new mindset requires a belief that new abilities can be developed with effortĬhanging mindsets is a vital topic in transitioning to SAFe because, too often, leaders and practitioners in organizations go through the motions of mimicking SAFe practices and using SAFe terms without internalizing and embracing the underlying values and principles that truly represent a new way of working. It’s also vital to cultivate the belief that mindsets can be developed and improved (a ‘growth’ mindset, as illustrated in Figure 1). So how can mindsets be changed? It begins with an awareness of one’s current mindsets and how they were formed. While many mindsets are positive and serve us well, others may need to change over time. Consequently, individuals are often unaware of how their mindsets influence how they carry out their responsibilities and interact with others. They reside in the subconscious mind and manifest themselves as deeply held beliefs, attitudes, assumptions, and influences. We form our mindsets through a lifetime of structured learning (classes, reading) and unstructured lessons (life events, work experience). It is how the human brain simplifies, categorizes, and interprets the vast amount of information it receives daily. What exactly is a ‘mindset?’ A mindset is a mental lens through which we view the world around us. Details Mindset Awareness and Openness to Change It provides leaders and change agents with the tools needed to drive a successful SAFe transformation, helping individuals and enterprises achieve their goals. The Lean-Agile mindset forms the cornerstone of a new way of working and an enhanced company culture that enables Business Agility. ![]() It’s the personal, intellectual, and leadership foundation for adopting and applying SAFe principles and practices. I’ve always regarded the people who can transcribe without an instrument, purely by their sense of relative pitch as having a truly extraordinary musical ability. One of my close friends who started playing about the same time as me had more aural skill within his first three years of playing than I have now, he just seemed to take to it incomprehensibly fast. My old guitar teacher is astonishingly fast at transcribing. I’ve always been envious of the musicians I knew who just seemed to be able to hear everything instantly. It makes transcribing feel like a chore, or at best a labour of love. Transcribing most songs is pointless busywork, and transcribing complex music can become very difficult and time consuming with little benefit. However, no amount of transcribing or supplementation with interval and chord recognition exercises have helped me to get beyond this stage. Pitch has been the only thing which has given me problems.Īgain, I don’t think I have “bad” ears. I have a very good sensitivity to timbral characteristics, for example, on a typical guitar part I would have little difficulty identifying the broad type of guitar and the pickup position, the type of amplifier, etc. I can recognise and internalize rhythms quickly. I’m sure in part that some of the time, resorting to grade D is the result of my perfectionism, a need to get every detail just right, rather than “good enough.” I have only very rarely experienced grade A, and I sometimes find myself in grade D when transcribing complex music, or when dealing with a confusing timbre (synth sounds, etc). On this gradation, I would say that I’m typically between grades B & C. I don’t know any methods for doing this, so I just wouldn’t even know how to start - or I might do it but I’m not confident what I figure out is right. I could do it in that case and probably be accurate, but it would take foreverĮ. ![]() ![]() I’d really have to go super slow, note by note with a slow downer to be able to do it. Finally it was revealed that Eric Persing and his team had been quietly adding features and content to what would eventually become a full Omnisphere version increment. To some of us, the NAMM 2015 announcement that Omnisphere 2 was in the pipeline totally stole the show. With its hundreds of new sounds, remote-controlled ‘Orb’ function and more, I doubt anyone would have felt let down if that marked the winding up of development. The last major update (1.5) arrived four years ago and was free to existing users. Since its appearance in 2008, Spectrasonics’ Omnisphere has enjoyed a celebrated existence for a plug–in synthesizer. This fine instrument is called the ‘Experibass’ and is typical of the lengths Spectrasonics have gone to to provide interesting and unusual material for their soundsources.Īs it reaches its second incarnation, we ask: is Spectrasonics’ Omnisphere the world’s best soft synth? ![]() ![]() I also kept any important documents I need for the move in the pocket of the folder, such as delivery slips for appliances, receipts for expenses and contact information. In a folder, I kept a printed box inventory list where I could write down what was in each box by number. If something is fragile or heavy, I write it in a big fat permanent marker beside the label on the box. Each boxes got two – one on the top and one on the side. I made these labels on the computer and printed a few sheets to have on hand whenever I was packing a room. While I don’t worry about the contents list when I’m packing to move a home, the labels and master list still come in handy. Every time we would pack a box, whether it was to move or put it in archives, we would label it on several sides, add a contents list (saving a digital copy) and track it on a master list. This is a trick I learned from my old Toronto job. We thanked them with pizza and beer for lunch – which was less than 1/4 of the price that we were quoted on a moving truck alone! 2. ![]() ![]() We did all the packing ourselves leading up to the move and then thankfully we had family and friends who kindly gave us a Saturday (and their vehicles) to move us out to the new place. They’ve made a huge difference in keeping us organized during this exciting (and somewhat stressful) time! The move from our little apartment in the suburbs to a big house in the country came with it’s own set of obstacles (like where to put boxes once they were packed in such a small space) but for the most part I was able to use the same process that I’ve used in the past. By the end of it I’d found ways to make moving much easier and reduce the inevitable stress that comes with it. Back when I worked in Toronto there was a four year span where I moved myself, my boss or our office no less than EIGHT times. ![]() |
